T-I-M-B-E-R, T-I-M-B-E-R, T-I-M-B-E-R
Better watch your head
The woodsman shouts, "THERE'S DANGER" To the walking DEAD
The ax is laid to the root of the tree
And that includes both you and me
Trees falling everywhere Scuny here, scurry there Trying to salvage what is good
In institutions, government and neighborhoods
It look likes salvage As nature twists and turns
Its heat, water, wind and fire, Furnishes wood for its eternal urn
The eternal flame is being fueled
As human beings fight and duel Over the salvage
Let it lay Let it lay,
The earth must consume And cleanse and begin Anew
T-I-M-B-E-R, T-1-M-B-E-R, T-I-M-B-E-R,
Where is your tree And just how is the root
connected to me?
I shake and tremble Because you're so nearby I feel I'm being consumed
By the ax, and then the fire
What did I do To deserve all this?
I hid my roots in the ands It never occurred to me that I was to be
HUMAN
I just wanted to protect my tree Now what is wrong with that? Self preservation is the law of life I protect my children and wife.
But your roots are hid in the sand Earth did not bring them forth For you to claim
The tree is really upside down The leaves whistle and shake As the winds howl
And the earth belches And you are disposed.
