Pearls of Prosperity

About The House of Rachel

Margaret Gwendolyn Martin Williams, born in McMinnville, TN, was a woman with a lifelong passion for learning and a deep curiosity about life and humanity. From her early years, Margaret demonstrated a natural talent for education and could often be found engrossed in books beneath a tree. Her enthusiasm for reading and her aptitude for mathematics propelled her to excel academically, culminating in her recognition as the valedictorian at Pearl High School and Tennessee State University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree.

After completing her undergraduate studies, Margaret dedicated herself to teaching high school in both Nashville, TN, and Louisville, KY. However, her thirst for knowledge led her back to pursuing further education. She obtained a master’s degree in human resource development/psychology from Vanderbilt University, which opened doors for her to become a professor at Tennessee State University. There, she shared her expertise in mathematics and authored a tutorial on the subject.

Religion and faith played crucial roles in Margaret’s life, igniting her curiosity about biblical studies, and eventually leading her to explore the field of history. Throughout her lifelong quest for knowledge, she began to question certain aspects of Christianity and its interpretation, delving into the examination of how the Bible has been used for both good and evil purposes. This introspection and exploration shaped her perspective on the teachings of the Bible and its impact on humanity.

In addition to her love for learning and teaching, Margaret possessed a deep affection for writing. Throughout the years, she would often spend quiet moments penning heartfelt letters and messages to her loved ones and even strangers she felt compelled to reach out to. Her gift of writing became a cherished legacy that she passed down to her children.

Margaret Gwendolyn Martin Williams was a devoted educator, a passionate scholar of religion and history, and a gifted writer. Her humble beginnings in a small town did not hinder her pursuit of knowledge and personal growth. Instead, they served as stepping-stones that propelled her towards a life dedicated to learning, teaching, and sharing her wisdom with others under the pen name, The House of Rachel.
